And In Right Field

Rob and I headed down to PETCO Park to catch the Padres.  We got some well priced tickets out in right field, packed a lunch and enjoyed the sunshine.  While I was there I went and checked out “The Park at the Park”, which is this grassy hill / park behind right center field.  You can get in for $5 and plop down on the hill and watch the game while you picnic.  I think this will be on the list of TODO’s for Lisa and I.  Anyway here are a few pictures from the game:

Rooting For The Away Team

For those who don’t know, Rob (a co-worker) and I have been in San Jose on business. Last night we hopped on the express train from San Jose to San Fransisco to catch the Padres vs Giants at AT&T. I think this is the first time I have seen a major league sports game where I was routing for the away team. All and all the giants fans were pretty tame.

After the game we went out for a few drinks and some greasy pizza. Oh by the way Padres won 5-2. Go Pads. We hoped the midnight train back to San Jose and crashed for an early morning.

Play Ball

This past weekend I went to a San Diego Padres baseball game.  I don’t think I have been to a professional baseball game in 15 years or so.  I kind of burned out on baseball for a while.  Other than being a little under dressed and chilly, I quite enjoyed the game.

Since then I have found myself watching the games on TV and checking the scores for subsequent games.  While the Padres haven’t been anything spectacular over the last few years, it will be nice to have a home team to route for.  I mean I had the Jazz in Salt Lake City, but I really don’t follow the NBA at all.  The jury is still out on the Chargers, so it looks like the Padres are my current pro sport home team.
